Sylvia Ellis has been a pastors' wife for 42 years, serving in Wisconsin, Kansas, Alaska, Oregon and at Pakistan Adventist Seminary where she taught English and her husband taught Bible for six years. She also taught elementary school for 16 years (mostly the one-teacher church school variety) in several places and academy English for two years. Although "retired," she currently teaches English as a Second Language two evenings a week at the local community college as well as substituting as called, K-12, in the area public schools, and leader in Kindergarten Sabbath School in her local church. Sylvia and her husband Fred reside in a small town in eastern Oregon, They have four grown sons. Sylvia loves to grow garden vegetables and lots of flowers, starting them in her small greenhouse.
